Dealing Seconds In Casino

Dealing seconds means dealing the card under the top one. The left thumb moves the top card .The upper right corner of the second card is then exposed. The second is “hit” with the thumb and pulled out, somewhat diagonally. If, for example, the upper side of the deck points toward north, the second is dealt toward northeast. A slight twisting movement of the left wrist helps make the sleight undetectable.

In gambling there are other methods of dealing seconds, but we described the classical one, which can be tried at any casino. The following remarks explain how peeking and dealing seconds can be used in actual game. Assume for example, that the dealer of the casino has peeked and has seen that the top card is a 5. He can keep it there, by dealing seconds, until he has a 14, 15, or 16. He can make then 19, 20 or 21. By peeking and dealing seconds the dealer may also increase the probability of having a ten or an ace for his up card and he has insurance from losing to the players. One who uses marked cards does not need to peek. Nevertheless, in most cases, the use of marked cards is a crude method of cheating.

Setting all the cards or some of them in a predetermined order is known as Stacking. A popular method of stacking employed in many casinos consists of arranging the cards in low—high or high— low order. This is generally, done when the cards are removed from the casino table. It is not necessary that all the cards be arranged in low—high or high—low order. For the player to be at a disadvantage it is enough that the pack contains one or more such sequences.

When the pack contains several low—high or high—low sequences, the dealer has an additional advantage. For example, assume that he dealt a high card. Then, the probability that the next two cards are low and high is greater than normal. Hence, if he wants a low card he will deal the next one. If he wants a high card he will deal a second.

The server cannot risk cheating every time or else he will be in a risk of being caught. Hence, do not panic and surrender your will to fight and play on. The chances of your being duped are much less than you think.
